A collector's model of the French Dassault Mirage F.1C fighter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mirage F1 is a French supersonic fighter with which the Dassault works followed on from the famous Mirage III series, but it changed the aerodynamic layout fundamentally. Instead of a delta wing it was given a conventional swept wing placed high on the fuselage and full horizontal tail surfaces. The result was better behavior on takeoff and landing and a shorter run needed, which opened the way for the type to many foreign operators. The F1C version served as a fighter with the French Air Force.
This is a collector's model in 1:72 scale, that is in the most common collector's scale for aircraft. The size relationship to the other machines in the cabinet will therefore match. Whether the model is supplied assembled and painted is worth checking on the box, because the workmanship in collector's ranges differs from piece to piece.
The model fares best in a closed display case out of reach of direct sunlight, which gradually shifts the shades of the finish and clouds the transparent parts. Wipe dust away with a soft brush, and for other dirt a lightly dampened cloth with no solvents is enough. When carrying the model, hold it by the fuselage, not by the tail surfaces or the thin projections on its surface.
The model will please collectors of European jet equipment and anyone who wants to see in their collection how the French school of fighter design moved from the delta to the swept wing. A display case and scenic accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
