A kabuki masking set for the Handley Page Hampden TB.Mk.I in 1:48 scale from New Ware in the EXPERT version. The most complete level of masks for the glazing, including the inner faces and the wheels.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masking templates of fine kabuki (washi) paper, cut exactly to fit the kit in question. It is not a model but an aid for a flawless spray of an extensively glazed airframe. The EXPERT version is the most complete one: besides the framing and the clear parts it also holds masks for the seals and the inner faces of the glazing, for a clean separation of the interior and exterior colors of the cockpit and the crew positions.
The Handley Page Hampden TB.Mk.I was the torpedo-carrying version of the British twin-engine bomber of the Second World War, nicknamed the flying suitcase for its narrow fuselage. As a torpedo bomber it served mainly with RAF Coastal Command against enemy shipping.
The extensive glazing of the Hampden rewards care: set the masks with tweezers and press the edges down thoroughly. Spray the interior cockpit shade first, then the exterior color. Lay the paint down in thin coats and let it dry before you lift the masks.
The set holds only masking templates. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
