A mask for the Fw 190 D-11 model in 1:48 scale, prepared for the parts of the kit from Miniart.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masking the frames of the glazing by hand with tape is slow work and only rarely comes out exactly right. A pre-shaped mask takes that work over: the parts are prepared in an outline that matches the kit, that is the Fw 190 D-11 model in 1:48 scale from Miniart. Which surfaces the mask covers and how many parts it holds is worth checking in the manufacturer's information, because it differs between individual items in the range.
The Fw 190 D-11 is one of the late versions of the German Fw 190 fighter with a lengthened nose, known collectively as the Dora. They are powered by a liquid-cooled Jumo 213 inverted V12 with an annular radiator placed immediately behind the propeller. It is that which gives the nose of the Dora its unmistakable shape, which is easy to confuse with the radial engine of the earlier A series.
Stick the mask onto a finished, washed and degreased surface before spraying. Press the edges down with a blunt point so that paint does not creep under them, and spray in thin coats. If you are masking glazing, leave it covered during the varnishing too, so that it stays clear and free of matte patches. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried and correct any small creep with a sharp-pointed brush. Wipe adhesive residue off a clear part with a cotton swab moistened with water, not with thinner.
The mask alone is supplied. The kit, paints, glue and decals are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
