It is not a vehicle model: it is an add-on set with which you replace the tracks in the base kit. The individual links are assembled and stay workable, so the finished track sags realistically and follows the road wheels.
The Soviet tanks of the IS (Iosif Stalin) series and the ISU self-propelled guns built on their chassis were among the most heavily armed tracked vehicles of the end of the Second World War. Their characteristic wide link tracks are key to their appearance, and rendering them faithfully raises the realism of a model considerably.
