A modeling set of sanding papers from the Japanese manufacturer Gunze in a fine grade. It is not a model or a kit but a tool for finishing the surface. Fine papers are used at the very end of sanding, once the rough work is done: they smooth out the marks of the coarser paper, level filled seams and prepare the plastic for the primer. It is the fine abrasive that decides how gloss varnish will look, because every remaining scratch is emphasized under the paint instead of being hidden.
Always sand in short strokes in one direction and keep checking the surface against the light, ideally under sharp side lighting, where the scratches show up best. On flat areas use the paper backed by a hard block so the plastic does not ripple. Work from coarser to finer and do not skip any step. A check coat of primer will show what is still left to sand. Sanding with water reduces dust and the paper does not clog as much, with papers meant for wet sanding.
For modelers who care about a smooth surface and want to take a model all the way to gloss varnish, and for beginners as a companion to a coarser set. It suits plastic kits and resin parts alike.
Dry sanding creates a fine dust that should not be breathed in. We recommend a respirator or sanding with water and a ventilated room. The set does not contain paints, primer or filler.
