Special Box Full Range Quick Markers

AK Special Box, Full Range Quick Markers (34 marker pens)

It is not a kit and not a set of ordinary opaque paints. It is the complete range of 34 contrast marker pens AK Quick Markers in a single box, that is color and shading in one stroke, above all for figures and wargaming.

How a contrast marker pen works

A Quick Marker is a marker pen with a brush tip filled with contrast paint (the principle known as speed paint). It is applied in a single coat: the paint runs down into the recesses, into the folds of a cloak, between the plates of armor, into the hair, and darkens there, while on the raised areas it stays light. The result is the base color together with shading in one stroke, without a separate wash and without highlighting the edges. Work that normally takes three steps is done in one.

Use, the most important thing first

• Contrast paints need a light base. They are translucent, so they work only over a white or bone primer, which the manufacturer recommends itself. They do not work over a black or dark base, because the paint gets lost in it and no shadow appears. That is the thing beginners come to grief on most often.
• Just flip the marker pen open and paint: the paint is dosed straight from the tip and you need neither a palette nor thinning.
• Let the paint run in and do not go over it again and again; the less you disturb a coat that is setting, the cleaner the transition that comes out.
• Fill in the richly opaque areas (metal, eyes, hard transitions) with ordinary opaque paint at the end. Contrast is the base, not a substitute for everything.

Why take the whole range at once

The set contains all 34 shades of the range, held in two foam trays in a firm box with a magnetic catch. Anyone who paints figures will appreciate above all that they do not have to put the range together piece by piece: the whole palette is at hand straight away, including shades they would never pick out one at a time.

Who the set is for

For painters of figures and for wargamers who need to paint a whole army fast and still decently. For beginners, whom a contrast paint forgives inexperience with shading. And for experienced modelers as a quick color base under further coats.

Keep out of the reach of children. Close the tips after use so that they do not dry out. It is not a toy.
