Vallejo True Metallic Metal - Aged Metal

A set of true metallic paints from the True Metallic Metal range by Vallejo in an aged metal shade. These are water-based acrylics with real metal pigments that create a realistic metal surface. The set contains four matched shades for a light - base - shadow sequence (the BSL system) plus a version for an airbrush, and it is built around a muted brownish metallic tone with patina and a worn, time-marked look. It suits war machines, science-fiction panels, medieval armor and terrain features alike.

Use

  • Thinned with water or acrylic thinner; do not mix them with enamel or lacquer paints.
  • They come out best on a smooth, matte-primed surface - a dark base works well.
  • Build the transition from the shadow through the base to the light; thin the airbrush version to suit.
  • The pigment settles at the bottom - shake the bottle thoroughly before use and during work.
  • The aging effect can be refined in combination with pigments and washes.
