Eris Red 6mm — red grass tufts from Paint Forge

Eris Red 6mm are grass tufts for a diorama from the brand Paint Forge. It is scenic material, that is vegetation to be applied to finished terrain, not a kit and not a standalone object in a scene. The name gives the red tone of the growth and carries the designation 6 mm, which with scenic vegetation usually states the height.

Where red growth comes in useful

• in fantasy and science-fiction scenes, where vegetation need not be earthly;
• on the bases of figures and busts as a bold accent of color;
• in autumn scenes with reddening growth;
• as a complement to green grass, so that an area does not look uniform.

How to work with the material

The tufts are placed only on finished terrain, after painting and after pigments. Red is among the strongest colors in a scene, so dose it sparingly — a few smaller clumps by the main subject do more than a continuous area. If a tuft does not hold by itself, stick it down with a drop of PVA or cyanoacrylate glue under its base, without the glue wicking into the fibers. A tuft can be divided with scissors into smaller clumps and spread out slightly. We recommend dusting the bottom of the tuft with a pigment in the color of the terrain, which makes the vegetation visually grow out of the ground instead of lying on it.

For modelers of dioramas and vignettes and for collectors of figures and busts with elaborate bases, above all in the fantasy and science-fiction genres. The material is not tied to one scale.
