U-STAR Etch Slide Change Parts 25 is a set of small photo-etched detail parts for improving plastic models afterwards. It is not a kit but an accessory that is glued onto a finished or part-built model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of small photo-etched parts from the manufacturer U-STAR, which a modeler uses to detail an already purchased kit afterwards. It is not a model and not a kit: in the package there is a fret with etched elements, which are cut out of the frame and glued onto the surface of a model. They come into play most often on robots and sci-fi equipment, where large smooth areas need breaking up to the eye, but they can also serve on military equipment, ships or in a diorama. The number in the name tells the individual variants of the motifs within the whole range apart.
Etched sheet is thinner by an order of magnitude than any injection-molded plastic part, so edges and fine shapes look believable in scale. The elements on the fret are a few millimeters in size and are arranged as universal details that the modeler lays out according to their own intention; the set is therefore not tied to one particular model or to one scale.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and not by pulling with shears, otherwise the fret will deform. Work with pointed tweezers and degrease the surface before gluing. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; the gel version gives a few seconds to fine-tune the position, while cement for plastic does not work here. A base coat is necessary before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth metal. Some of the elements can on the other hand be left in a metallic shine as a contrast to painted plastic.
This is an accessory set. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
