EXTREME RUST WASH – WARGAME SERIES

Extreme Rust Wash from the Wargame Series range

Extreme Rust Wash is a ready-made toning liquid from AK interactive, from the range intended for wargaming. The wash is applied with a brush onto a painted surface, runs by capillary action into the engraved lines and recesses and, once dry, leaves a darker deposit in them, while the raised areas clean up. The result is relief that stands out without laborious shading shade by shade. This particular tone is pitched at strong, pronounced corrosion.

A wash, a filter and a paneliner are not the same

The difference is worth recalling: a wash brings out detail and runs into recesses, a filter shifts the tone of a whole area and a paneliner follows the engraved lines alone. Extreme Rust Wash belongs to the first group, so it does the most good on broken-up surfaces such as riveted armor, grilles, chains, the armor of figures or textured terrain pieces. On a smooth area it tells less.

Recommended procedure

• Shake the bottle before use so that the contents are uniform.
• Apply it to a broken-up area and let the liquid run into the recesses.
• Draw the excess off the raised areas with a half-dry brush before it dries.
• Build the effect up in two lighter passes rather than one heavy one.
• Handle thinning, cleaning and any clear coat over the effect according to the manufacturer's instructions on the label.

Who it is for

For wargamers who need to bring a whole unit together quickly and repeatably, and for modelers of vehicles and terrain who can use a ready-made corrosion tone without mixing.

Keep out of the reach of children, protect your eyes and work in a well-ventilated area.
