An eye at the end of a shank is a detail that is recognized at once on a finished model: ropes, chains, lashing straps and towing lines all lead to it. This item offers 196 pieces of a size of one millimeter, that is the second finest position in a range that continues through 1.5 and 2.0 mm up to three millimeters.
Eyes of this format correspond in 1:35 to tie-down points roughly 3.5 cm in real diameter. Exactly such points were used on beds, fenders and side panels to secure tools, tarpaulins and spare parts. On aircraft in 1:32 they will serve as anchorages for equipment in the bomb bay, and on ships as attachment points for rigging on deck structures. The finest variant of the range is already at the limit of visibility, whereas a one-millimeter eye keeps its shape even after spraying and varnishing.
The hole is only three tenths of a millimeter, so count on a micro drill in a hand holder and on tweezers with genuinely fine jaws. It proves its worth to drill all the holes at once and only then to reach for the glue, which is applied with a pin a single drop at a time. Anyone who wants to run a line between the eyes should try its tension dry before fixing the joint.
