Big Ed is a bundle of several separate Eduard accessory sets for one kit, which the manufacturer sells together in a single box. This bundle is intended for a model of the F-16A MLU fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft: the model itself has to be obtained separately, and the bundle serves to refine and complete it. The MLU designation stands for an extensive upgrade of European single-seat and two-seat F-16As and F-16Bs. The upgrade concerned the equipment above all: new avionics, a cockpit adapted for night vision and the ability to carry newer weapons. The airframe stayed essentially that of the original A version and the power came from an engine of the F100 series, not from the F110 series engines that belong to other versions of the Fighting Falcon. The upgraded machines served with several European air forces and are often seen in striking anniversary schemes.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with pliers. Make the bends in a bending tool, or at least against a metal ruler, otherwise the edge will waver. Use super glue applied with a wooden stick in a minimal amount; on larger areas a cement for clear plastic helps, since it gives you time to position the part. Do not overspray the parts printed in color with aggressive varnishes, which would damage the print. Stick the masks onto degreased, dry glazing and pull them off while the paint is freshly dry, so the edge of the coat is not torn.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
