The Eduard F-4E 1:48 masking set for a model of the two-seat jet. The ready-shaped masks are stuck onto the clear part, so there is no cutting from masking tape by hand.

This is a masking set, not a photo-etched set or a kit. The masks are cut for the glazing of an F-4E Phantom II model in 1:48 scale and are stuck onto the clear part before spraying. Eduard is a Czech manufacturer whose masking line is among the most widespread accessories of this kind.
The F-4E is the two-seat version of the Phantom II with two jet engines and a lengthened nose. The cockpit has two separate canopies with a fixed section between them, so the model offers several separate transparent parts. On two-seat machines the cockpit is also often built open, to show the interior, and then the demands on a clean frame are higher still.
Wash and degrease the glazing; grease is the main reason a mask fails to hold. Transfer the individual shapes with tweezers and, once they are seated, press them down with a soft toothpick so the edge beds along its whole length. Spray in thin layers; for a build with an open cockpit it pays to apply the interior shade first and only then the outer color. Take the masks off once the paint has set, best with tweezers at a shallow angle.
The package holds masks only. The model, the paints and the glue are not part of it.
