The fight over the archipelago lasted only a few weeks, but the equipment committed to it is rewarding for a modeler precisely because factory finishes were mixed with field modifications on it. The set aims at the Argentine side and covers both the supersonic machines and the transport and reconnaissance types.
The field finishes were created in a hurry, often with a brush and without sharp edges, so when spraying it helps to use a loose mask made of putty held a little above the surface. The machines operated over the sea, which showed in a salty cast and in rapid fading of the upper surfaces; it is therefore worth reckoning with fine-tuning the tones once they have dried. Aluminum areas, in contrast, call for a smooth surface underneath, as otherwise every scratch stands out.
Four shades describe the factory scheme, which the machines already carried before they sailed for the islands. The remaining four belong to the light ground-attack aircraft, on which the finish was changed only on the spot, so that differences prevailed between individual examples and only a photograph of a particular fuselage number can document them. Anyone building a diorama with several machines at once will appreciate that both groups are together and do not have to be put together from two different boxes.
The package contains the paints only, without a model, decals and masking material.
