A modeling pigment in a dark earth shade from the AMMO of Mig Jimenez range. A fine powder for deposits of soil and dust on models of equipment and on dioramas.

A pigment is a fine colored powder with no binder. It is applied to a model dry and settles exactly where soil would lie on a real machine: in the corners, around rivets and hinges, on the underside of the hull, in the wheel arch and around the running gear. Against paint applied with a brush it looks matte and broken up, so the result reads as a deposit rather than a coat of paint. The dark earthy shade suits damper and fertile soil, rutted field tracks and equipment that has been off the hard surface.
Work only on a finished and fully dry paint job. Pick the powder up with a soft brush and spread it with light strokes, then tap or carefully wipe the excess off. Work in layers, preferably lightly and several times; a single heavy layer is hard to even out. Build the deposit up where the soil would reach first, that is from the bottom upwards, and let it fade out higher up.
The shade can be fixed with a product made for pigments. Reckon on it going darker once fixed, so try the procedure first on a piece of plastic away from the model. The earthy tone combines well with a lighter dust shade: the lighter deposit belongs on horizontal surfaces, the darker one on the lower parts. On a model that is meant to stay clean, apply the pigment only into the shadows and the joints, so that the machine does not look neglected.
The model, brushes and the fixing product are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
