Scenic material for a diorama and model landscape. It is a fine foliage in a rich dark green shade, from which bushes, thickets, undergrowth under trees or the leaves of crowns are torn off and glued down. It is not a kit, not a paint and not a ready-made grass mat that only has to be laid down: you shape the material on the scene yourself, and the result depends on how you loosen it up and in what layers you apply it.

Use

• Tear off a smaller clump, loosen it with your fingers into an irregular shape and only then glue it. A compact piece looks like a sponge, a loosened one like a bush.
• Apply the foliage to a tree in layers over an armature of wire or a natural twig, so that the crown is not a solid ball.
• Glue it down with PVA glue for scenery; a drop of super glue holds small details and awkward spots.
• Fix the finished area again with thinned glue or a matte fixative, otherwise the material comes loose when the diorama is handled.
• Combine several shades of green together. A uniform dark area loses its depth in a photograph.

Where dark green suits

A dark green shade matches mature vegetation in high summer, the shaded areas under crowns and coniferous growth. On spring and autumn scenes it works rather as the lower, shadow layer, onto which lighter tones are added from above. The material is not tied to a scale: on a small scene it serves as the leaves of a bush, on a larger one as undergrowth or moss.

The foliage is a loose material. Work over a tray, avoid inhaling the dust and keep it out of the reach of children.
