A primer unifies the surface of a model before the painting itself. On an assembled part, plastic, filler, material exposed by sanding and any metal accessories all meet, and each of them takes paint differently. A thin coat of primer evens these differences out, improves the adhesion of the coats that follow and at the same time reliably shows where an unsanded gap or a scratch has been left. It can be repaired before the shade goes onto the model, on which the flaw would be visible.
This primer is silver and covers with a metallic finish. It suits everywhere metal is meant to show under the top coat: as a base under metallic shades, which come out well on a smooth silver surface, and as the under coat for the chipping technique, where the top color is rubbed through in places after drying and reveals the metal base. The bottle holds 50 ml.
Shake the bottle well before use, as the metal particles settle at the bottom. Apply in thin coats and let them flash off; a heavy coat fills in the fine surface detail. Wash and degrease the model before spraying, so that the coat holds. The manufacturer gives the thinner intended for this line and the thinning ratio on the packaging; reach for it when cleaning the tools as well.
