An oil paint in a flesh shade intended for shadows, named Flesh Shadow. Slow drying allows the transitions to be tuned for a long time.
Responsibility details are not available.
An oil paint in a flesh shade intended for shadows. It suits everywhere the skin should gain depth: into the folds of the face, under the chin, at the eye sockets, at the root of the nose and into the lines on the hands. Without darkened places the face of a figure stays flat and reads more like a mask than a face.
Oil paints dry slowly, and that is exactly what is valuable about them. Paint that has been applied can still be blended, toned down or wiped off completely even after a while, so the transition between light and shadow is built up gradually and does not have to be right first time. On skin that is what decides: the boundary between shades on a face must not be visible, and that is exactly what a fast-drying paint makes hard.
Seal the surface under the paint with varnish, preferably a gloss or semi-gloss one; an excess can be wiped cleanly off a smooth area. Let a drop rest for a while on card so that the paper draws off part of the binder, and only then take it up on a brush. Apply it in small dots and blend it with a soft brush or a cotton swab. It is thinned with mineral spirits or an odorless thinner, always a little at a time. Drying takes considerably longer than with an acrylic, so wait before varnishing again.
Above all for builders of figures and busts who care about soft transitions on skin, and for anyone who wants to keep a shade under control even after it has been applied. Thinner, brushes and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
