With this shade the manufacturer's advice is unusually specific: summer grass is modeled with it and it is said to serve especially well along roads and in ditches. That makes sense, because it is precisely there that greenery tends to be rich but not excessively fresh. The package takes the form of a shaker with a sieve with a content of 945 cm³, given also as 57.7 cubic inches.
The edge of a roadway, the foot of an embankment or the edge of a sidewalk are the places where unskilled work shows most often. A sharp division between asphalt and greenery does not look good; a fine scatter makes it possible to make a band in which the grass gradually thins out and finally ends. It does the same service around curbs, at the feet of poles and between paving slabs, where something grows in every joint. The richness of the shade stands up even to a larger area without mixing. Even so it pays off to work in a handful of another tone here and there, so that the growth does not come across as a printed pattern.
A band along a road is done in sections of about ten centimeters, so that the glue does not dry before the scatter falls onto it. Work against the light, as side lighting gives away at once the places where the layer is uneven. At the end the area is fixed with thin glue, as otherwise the band is worn away while the model is handled. The fixing is better done twice in thin applications than in one generous one.
