A flexible sanding board from the brand DSPIAE in 2000 grit. It is a modeling tool for the final treatment of a surface, not a kit or a part for a model. The flexible backing adapts to the shape of a part, so the abrasive works evenly on curves as well and does not round off edges the way a rigid sanding file does.
What 2000 grit means
2000 grit is very fine. It practically does not take material off, it only levels a surface smooth. It is used at the very end, typically on an already sprayed face where it is to level small unevenness, and as preparation before polishing to a gloss.
Above all for builders of car and motorcycle models and everywhere a surface is finished with gloss paint, because it is precisely on a gloss face that every unevenness shows. The sequence goes up by grit, and a board of 2000 is one of the last steps before polishing.
Sanding produces a fine dust that must not be breathed in, so work in a well ventilated room. Clean the surface thoroughly of dust before the next step.
