Colored modeling wire of 0.3 mm diameter in a length of one meter. The gold shade differs from the other colors in the line in that it looks metallic, and it therefore suits not only cables but also everywhere a detail is meant to look like a brass or a gilded element: small springs, small connectors, decorative strips, cords and parts of fittings. It serves for finishing details beyond the contents of a kit.
Divide the material with side cutters or a scalpel and shape it in smooth curves. Lead the ends into pre-drilled holes and secure them with the tiniest drop of super glue applied with the tip of a toothpick; a large drop would leave a visible trace on a surface that looks metallic. If you want to subdue the gold shade into an older, more matte form, a careful dark wash is enough, but do it only after gluing, so that the material is not rubbed during handling. A meter is enough for a great many short runs, so cut it only according to the real need on the model.
For modelers of cars, motorcycles, aircraft and ships who finish details beyond the contents of the box and work from photographs of the subject.
