Nothing sets the season on a scenic base faster than foliage. While summer green looks much the same almost everywhere, a fall palette says at once when a scene takes place and brings an area to life that would otherwise be monotonous. The set mixes warm shades from yellow through orange to red brown, so a group of trees does not look like one color repeated nine times.
The package holds nine trees 3.17 to 7.62 cm tall. Differing size within one package is deliberate: growth made up of pieces of equal height looks artificial, whereas a spread of heights imitates natural increase. Nine pieces are at the same time a quantity with which a whole copse can be founded, not just a single tree by a road.
The trunks can be shaped, so a crown can be leaned into the direction of the prevailing wind or a tree bent so that it leans away from a building. Every piece has a pin for pushing into the base and a removable base, thanks to which an arrangement can be tried out for real before anything is glued down.
It is good to build a group irregularly and to leave gaps between the trees, because neither a wood nor a copse ever grows in a row and regular spacing gives away human intervention at once. The taller pieces belong at the back and in the middle, the lower ones at the edges, where the growth gives way to meadow. Combining them with a few conifers or with green broadleaf trees brings the fall tones out even more, because a warm color looks deeper beside cool green.
