The Tamiya High Finish Flat Brush No. 02 is a flat modeling brush with synthetic bristles, one step wider than the No. 0 version. It suits continuous coats on medium-sized areas: it is not a kit but a modeling accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A flat modeling brush from Tamiya in the High Finish (HF) range. It is a modeling brush, not a kit: it is a tool for applying paint. The bristles are synthetic (for this range Tamiya uses a specially developed artificial fiber for modeling paints), stiff and lined up into a straight edge. Size No. 02 is one step wider than the smallest No. 0, so it takes up more paint and makes a longer continuous stroke.
No. 02 is a compromise size: it is still precise enough to handle the edge of a part, but it already holds a reasonable reserve of paint for a continuous coat. If you are struggling with No. 0 streaking on an area and failing to spread the paint in one stroke, No. 02 is the right step up. For genuinely large areas, a whole fuselage, armor plate or large panels, even No. 02 is still small; there you should reach for a large flat brush (No. 5, for example). Thin details and lettering, on the other hand, belong to a pointed brush.
For modelers who paint with a brush and need one all-round flat brush for medium-sized areas, typically aircraft and vehicles in the smaller scales, accessories and diorama elements. A good choice as a first flat brush in a toolkit.
A modeling accessory, not a kit. Paints and thinners are not included in the package. Ventilate the area when working with thinners.
