Seven millimeters that change a whole collection

The difference between a small 25 mm disc and the 32 mm format looks unremarkable on paper, but on the table it shows in two ways at once. First in area: a circle 32 mm across has roughly two thirds more area than a twenty-five, so models are left markedly more room to stand astride and for scenic work around the feet. Second in spacing: the bases touch sooner, so the same number of figures occupies a noticeably wider strip in a close rank and the player gets them through narrow places less easily. Anyone rebasing a collection from the smaller format to this one should therefore rebase a whole unit at once, or two spacings will mix in a rank and the formation will stop fitting.
