This is an oil-free compressor from the maker Fengda meant to drive an airbrush. It supplies the compressed air needed for spraying modeling paints, varnishes and clear coats. It is neither a kit nor a paint but a source of air. The AS-196 model is fitted with an air receiver (pressure tank), which evens the pressure out and removes pulsation, so the coat goes on smooth and even. A regulator with a pressure gauge for setting the working pressure is included, and a filter and moisture trap, which protects the paint from drops of water. The compressor offers an automatic mode, in which it switches itself off once the set pressure is reached and starts again when it falls, which saves the motor and electricity alike. For safe operation it carries a relief valve and thermal protection of the motor.
