A publication from the Komakai brand devoted to the Lancia LC2, a Group C prototype of the 1983 season. Pictorial support for builders of racing car models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lancia LC2 was the Italian answer to the rule of the Porsches in Group C. It followed on from the open LC1 car and from the 1983 season it lined up in Martini Racing colors as a closed prototype that brought together the best Italian motorsport had at hand: a chassis from Dallara and a forced-induction V8 engine derived from Ferrari. Its speed was enormous and in qualifying it managed to beat the Porsches, but long races were not run flat out in those days. The Group C rules strictly limited the amount of fuel for a race, and it was fuel consumption together with reliability that cost the LC2 most of the chances it had earned out on the track.
This title from the Komakai brand, whose series are devoted to documenting racing cars, concentrates on the LC2 in the 1983 season. A modeler appreciates a publication like this above all when building a particular car from a particular race: the documentation settles the choice of color scheme, the placement of the lettering and the small points in which the individual cars differed from one another.
For builders of endurance prototypes and for collectors of motorsport literature of the 1980s. Neither a model of the car nor a kit is included; this is a standalone publication.
