Light Green Grass Tufts by Woodland are individual grass tufts that are glued onto finished terrain on a diorama as the final detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
A scenic material in the form of grass tufts. Unlike scatters, which are sprinkled over an area, tufts are set in place one at a time and come into play right at the end, when the terrain is finished, fixed and painted. Look for the height of the tufts and their number in the package on the packaging.
A tuft is not an area but a point, and that is exactly why it is handled differently from a grass scatter. Every tuft set in place takes a share of the attention, so where you put it decides. They work best in the places where grass would really survive being trodden on and mown: at the foot of a tree, in a hollow, behind a stone, in a joint in paving, around a post and along an unused strip of track. It pays to keep to the rule that there should be fewer tufts than one would expect, and that they should not be the same. With tweezers they can be deformed before being set in place, leaned to one side as though the wind had bent them, or partly trimmed, so that from one package tufts arise in several heights and densities. Regular spacing, by contrast, gives a scene away at once.
For modelers who are finishing vignettes, bases under figures and smaller dioramas, where you work with a few centimeters of surface and every detail shows. It also suits bringing older finished scenes to life when they lack the last layer of vegetation.
The tufts are supplied as a scenic material to be glued onto finished terrain; glue and paints are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
