The sandy brown Colonial Dark Sand liquid pigment from the Liquid Pigments Washes range by Lifecolor settles a dust deposit on a model in a darker desert tone.

Dust is not just a light veil. On real vehicles dust has the color of the soil that was driven over, and in dry regions it tends to be markedly warmer and darker than modelers expect. This liquid pigment from the Italian brand Lifecolor aims at exactly the darker sandy shade of the deposit.
Where dust really settles
Not evenly over the whole model. It holds in horizontal surfaces, in corners, around fittings and above all in the lower third of a vehicle, where the running gear throws it up. It makes sense to follow this logic when laying it on, because an even coat only turns the whole model gray and the effect disappears.
Light dust shades tend to turn a whole model gray and rob it of contrast. A darker sandy tone, by contrast, keeps the area colored and suits everywhere it should show that the dust is damp, trodden down or older. A combination of both shades on one model looks more believable than a single coat.
For modelers of desert and southern vehicles and for diorama builders who care about the model and the base looking as though they came from one place. Mix the bottle before work and during it, as the pigment settles at the bottom.
Keep out of the reach of children, ventilate when working in a closed room and close the bottle well after use.
