The shade belongs to the Liquid Pigments Washes range of liquid pigments, and its name gives its function away at once. Shadow means shadow: it is a darker green laid on where light would not fall on a real machine. The pigment is dispersed in a fluid, so it is rubbed out with a brush and once dry holds on the surface as a fine matte veil.
Shade, or even out?
One bottle manages both; what decides is the way it is laid on. Locally into folds, against the edges of panels and under projections, it deepens the shape. Spread thinly over a whole area, by contrast, it works as toning: it visually reduces the difference between neighboring green shades, so that a camouflage made up of three sprayings stops looking like three separate colors and starts to look like one surface.
For everyone who works with green schemes and wants to give them depth without reaching for black. A black shadow dirties green and turns it gray; a green shadow darkens it and still leaves the color a color.
