Medium Aluminium is a metallic aluminum tone, that is a light silver-gray color with a visible metallic sheen. The designation of a middle position sets it apart from the other aluminum shades of the same line, which tend to be either lighter and smoother or, on the contrary, darker and stronger. It suits every place where a surface is meant to read clearly as metal but not as a mirror: on sheet metal panels, exhausts, wheels, parts of an engine bay or on worn patches of a finish.
A metallic shade is made up of fine reflective particles dispersed in a binder. It is they that decide the result: on a rough or matte base they settle unevenly and the surface then looks grayish rather than metallic. A metallic paint also reveals scratches, fingerprints and remains of sanding dust far more than an ordinary matte coat, so the preparation of the surface decides the result more than with other shades.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use; the metallic particles settle to the bottom. Smooth the base and degrease it, and ideally leave it smooth and glossy. Apply it in several thin coats, not in one wet one. Do not take a dried metallic surface in your fingers and mask it only with low-tack tape. Allow also for the fact that a final clear coat always damps a metallic sheen a little. The thinning, the spraying pressure and the drying time follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
The paint is supplied on its own. Thinner, primer, a final clear coat and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
