A kit of the German Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a jet fighter aircraft. It is assembled without glue; the parts fit into one another.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter aircraft to reach combat use. It was powered by a pair of turbojet engines slung under the wing, which gave it a speed no contemporary piston fighter could catch. The A-1a version was the fighter form with a strong cannon armament in the nose. Its possibilities were held down, however, by the unreliability and short life of the engines of the time, by a shortage of raw materials and by the fact that the aircraft was most vulnerable during takeoff and landing. Its swept wing and the smooth lines of its fuselage still make it one of the most interesting aircraft of the Second World War in shape.
The model is assembled without glue; the parts fit together with a connecting system. The build is clean, it manages without tools and the finished aircraft can be taken apart and put together again at any time. The number of parts, the form of the landing gear and the extent of the moving parts follow from the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Build according to the instructions step by step and do not skip steps, because with this system the parts are often secured only later. Push the joints home straight, not at an angle. Attach the engine nacelles on a flat surface and check that both are at the same height and parallel with the axis of the fuselage, otherwise the model looks twisted.
The set is for collectors of aviation hardware and for builders who want a model without work with glue and paints, and for building together with children as well. Paints, glue and a stand are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
