A dry pigment in the shade of the dust of Middle Eastern regions. It serves to dust the running gear, tracks, fenders and the gear of figures on equipment deployed in a sandy environment.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pigment is a fine colored powder with no binder and it behaves exactly like real dust: it settles in corners, on horizontal surfaces and in every irregularity, while it wipes off the sharp edges. That is precisely why dusting with a pigment looks more believable than a sprayed-on tint. This shade matches the light dust of dry Middle Eastern regions, that is an environment where dust settles in a thick layer and changes the overall tone of a vehicle.
It holds best on a matte surface; it will not take on gloss. Pick the powder up with a soft brush and stipple it into the places where dust really holds: into the wheel wells, onto the tracks and road wheels, next to rivets and hinges, into the corners of the hull, onto the lower part of the sides and onto the boots and knees of figures. You sweep or blow the excess away, so the whole time you have the option of adjusting the result. As soon as you are satisfied with the distribution, fix the dust, or it will wipe off during handling.
After fixing, the shade usually darkens somewhat, so count on the resulting tone being a degree deeper than the dry powder. Rather apply less and repeat the layer. Work with pigments calmly and out of a draft; the powder is very light.
For modelers who build equipment deployed in the desert and on dry battlefields, and for the makers of dioramas. A fixer and brushes are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
