Model Scene Larch, tall trunk 140-160 mm is a finished handmade model tree with a high-set crown, leaving room underneath for vehicles and figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
A handmade finished model of a larch 140 to 160 mm tall overall from the manufacturer Model Scene, in the tall-trunk version. It is not a kit and not a loose material — the tree is complete and after unpacking it is simply planted into the base. Thanks to the handmade production every piece is an original in shape.
The crown begins only on the upper part of the trunk, so the space underneath stays clear. In practice that means a vehicle, figures or part of a building will fit under the tree without your having to bend the branches — and the scene stays light and readable. That shape matches trees growing in a closed stand, where the lower branches die off in the competition for light, or trees in an avenue or a park, where the lower branches are removed. It therefore suits a diorama with vehicles better than a dense tree carrying its crown down to the ground.
The larch is a deciduous conifer with upright growth and an open, light-filled crown. This version is in summer green. A height of 140 to 160 mm corresponds in 1:35 scale to a tree roughly 5 to 5.6 meters tall, and in 1:48 scale to about 6.7 to 7.7 meters.
Drill a hole to match the diameter of the trunk and glue the tree in with PVA or cyanoacrylate. Hide the foot of the trunk with static grass and fine undergrowth. The tall trunk takes gentle drybrushing well, which pulls out the texture of the bark. In a group of trees, vary the heights and the way the crowns are turned.
This is a finished model tree. The base, the terrain materials, the glue and any further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
