Why keep shaders apart from ordinary paints

Shaders differ from opaque acrylics in what they are for: they are laid on in several thin layers and are worked with as a shading medium, not as a base coat. When they stand mixed in among opaque paints, sooner or later you will take one of them by mistake instead of the other, and you will notice the difference only once it has dried on the model. A separate module rules this mix-up out and at the same time keeps the whole range together, so that while shading you move between shades without stepping away from the model. Secondarily the same holds as for the other paints: a bottle standing upright is stirred up faster and its label is visible.

What to keep in mind

• Mark the module, so that it is clear at a glance that there are no opaque paints in it.
• Always stir the bottle, because thin paints have a sediment just as thick ones do.
• Do not mix ranges of different chemistries in one place, so that the thinner does not get confused.
• The dimensions and the way it joins with further parts are given on the packaging and by the manufacturer.
