What is in the box

The package holds one hundred neodymium magnets measuring 5 x 2 millimeters in the N52 energy grade. The number after the letter N expresses the strength of the magnetic material, and a value of 52 is among the highest sold as a matter of course; even a small magnet therefore holds unexpectedly firmly. One joint takes a pair of magnets, so a hundred pieces is enough for dozens of joints.

Where the magnets come into their own

Anywhere a joint is meant to come apart. On figures they allow weapons, shields and arms to be swapped, so one body yields several looks. On vehicles they hold removable engine covers, hatches and doors you want open when the model is displayed, and equally a propeller you would rather take off before transport. A model fixed to a base or a diorama with magnets can be taken off and carried safely, and a sheet-metal plate in a case holds a whole group of figures in place.

How to work with them

Drill the hole exactly to the size of the magnet and preferably a touch deeper, so that the magnet does not stand out. Mark the poles with a marker before gluing, otherwise the opposite pieces will start repelling each other and you will take the joint apart only along with a broken part. Bond with super glue or with epoxy and apply the glue sparingly, so that it does not run onto the mating surface. Do not let the magnets snap together loosely, because the brittle material chips in the process, and keep them away from payment cards, headphones and other electronics. Small pieces do not belong in children's hands.
