A brass die measuring 140 x 77 mm with a precisely etched repeating relief. The maker, the Polish firm Aber, describes it as a modern type with strips in a 5x5 arrangement and recommends it for the large scales 1:24 and 1:25. The plate is not part of any model - it is a tool with whose help the modeler makes a textured sheet from thin foil himself and uses it as the surface of a part.

Use

• Lay polystyrene sheet or thin soft sheet metal on the plate and hold it against shifting.
• Pass a rounded tool evenly over the area until the relief is distinctly impressed.
• Work in several lighter passes; one stroke that is too hard can damage the foil.
• Trim the impression to the shape of the part and glue it onto the model.

Where it is useful

On models of modern vehicles in large scales, where the areas the crew moves on, given a non-skid finish, are clearly visible - fenders, walking surfaces, platforms, steps. It will also come into its own in dioramas and in building your own parts, whenever you need a regular texture with a pronounced pattern.

For modelers of large scales and for scratchbuilders who want the surface under control and do not rely on the contents of the box alone. The plate is reusable and with ordinary handling practically indestructible.

After etching, brass has sharp edges - proceed with care and keep out of the reach of small children. Material for impressing, glue and paints are not included in the package.
