A mature oak 12.7 cm tall, one piece in the package. A broad crown and a massive trunk make it the natural center of a village green, a pasture or a woodland edge.

An oak grows slowly but for a long time, and in a landscape it therefore usually stands for the oldest thing on the spot. It tends to have a shorter trunk and a strikingly wide, spreading crown under which a whole group of figures or a parked vehicle will fit. On a village green, by a wayside chapel, on a margin between fields or at the edge of a pasture it works as a fixed point around which the rest of a scene can be composed.
The model measures 12.7 cm and there is one piece in the package, so this is a specimen tree for the foreground, not filler growth. Oak wood is hard and tough, which on a real tree shows in strong, irregularly angled branches; the casting tries to capture that drawing even at small size.
A specimen tree can stand alone and have open space around it; its isolation is exactly what gives it weight. Under the crown it pays to make the terrain a little different: trampled soil, a ring of shorter grass or a few acorns in the form of fine turf suggest that the tree has stood here for years. If you plant it by a building, watch the proportion between the two: the crown should not overtop the ridge of the roof, otherwise the building shrinks visually. And because it casts dense shade around itself, it takes bare soil beneath it rather than rank undergrowth. Anchor the trunk into a drilled hole so that the model does not wobble.
An old oak used to be a landmark and a boundary marker between plots and often outlived several generations of farmers. On a diorama it therefore need not be just extra greenery: set at a crossroads, by a wayside cross or over a vanished well, it says straight away that the place has a past, and gives the viewer a reason to stop at it.
