A scenic material imitating dry oak leaves. Intended for the floor of a diorama, for the edges of roads and anywhere fallen leaves belong.
Responsibility details are not available.
The material imitates fallen dry oak leaves and belongs among the scenic accessories for building a diorama. Leaves are one of the details that most quickly give a scene its season: fresh green undergrowth says summer, while a layer of dry leaves moves the setting into autumn or into a bright wood after the fall. The shape of an oak leaf is so familiar that the viewer recognizes it even in a small rendering.
It most often goes on the floor of a woodland scene, under trees, into ditches and at the foot of fences and walls, where the wind naturally piles leaves up. It also serves well on the horizontal surfaces of vehicles parked under trees, where leaves catch in corners and behind projections. The layer should not be even, because it is exactly the irregularity that makes a scene believable.
Try the arrangement dry first and only then fix the leaves down. Coat the base with thinned PVA glue or with a glue intended for scenery, sprinkle the leaves from above and blow off the excess once it has dried. Work in two or three thin layers, because one dense layer looks like a carpet. Even out the shade with very thinly applied paint or with pigment, which will also tie the leaves to the base. Compare the size of the leaves with the scale of the scene beforehand.
Glue, a base, paints and a model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
