Old and Weathered Wood Vol. 1 from AK interactive

A set of six third generation acrylic paints in 17 ml bottles. The shades are chosen to cover the warm part of the wood palette, from freshly cut light timber through mahogany and varnished wood to dark, long weathered surfaces. Combined with the second volume of the range, the manufacturer says practically any type of wood can be mixed. Wood is a rewarding surface on a model precisely because it almost never has a single color: neighboring planks differ, the edges are rubbed light and the joints have darkened, and for that you need several close tones at hand.

Use

• Decking, crates, barrels, wheel rims and wooden parts of military vehicles.
• Hulls and decks of ships, where several tones have to be told apart side by side.
• Fences, sheds and furniture in dioramas and vignettes.
• A base for later glazes, washes and drybrushing that bring out the grain.
• Applied with a brush and with an airbrush once thinned.

Who the set is for

For modelers of vehicles, ships and dioramas who do not want to settle wood with a single brown shade. The set gives several tones straight away that can be layered and mixed with each other, so that even a beginner gets a surface with depth.

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. The paint is thinned with water or with the acrylic thinner of the same manufacturer, and solvent thinners for lacquers do not belong here. Work in a ventilated area and keep the paints out of the reach of children.
