Option Armor for Long Range Sniping – add-on armor for Alto (blue)

This is not a robot kit but a supplementary set of plastic parts. It serves to re-arm and re-dress the basic machines of Bandai's 30 Minutes Missions line, specifically the Alto type, for which it is cut and colored. The designation in the name points to a configuration for long-range sniping. On its own the set does not give a finished model: there is no machine and no figure in the package, as the name itself states.

What the set is and is not

It is a set of add-on parts: armor covers and fittings that are fitted to an already built basic machine. It is not a complete model, it is not a spare part for one particular piece and it does not replace the basic kit. The exact number of parts and the full list of contents are stated on the box. The 30 Minutes Missions line is built modularly and parts from different sets can be combined, so the set can also be used for your own conversions.

Building and painting tips

Clip the parts off a little away from the part and level the sprue nub with a scalpel and fine sandpaper so that no whitened burr is left on the blue surface. Test the fit dry and without force, as the add-on covers are held on pegs and repeated removal wears the holes out. If you want to match the set in color to the basic machine, spray it with a thin coat of paint over a light primer; a matte clear varnish at the end will even out the sheen of the original and the sprayed plastic.
