An accessory set of parts from the Japanese manufacturer Bandai: an accessory with which you complete a kit you already have, not a model in its own right. The subtitle Flight Armor points to a flight configuration, that is, parts associated with movement through the air. Within the numbered range of accessory sets it is precisely the subtitle that tells the sets apart, so watch it when choosing.
Bandai uses snap-fit construction: the plastic is already colored right through and the individual sections fit together with a click. You therefore build the model without glue and without paints. Separate the parts with nippers a small distance from the edge, then trim the rest of the gate with a sharp knife and go over it with fine abrasive paper. With colored plastic it pays to do this carefully, because a gate broken off leaves a white mark.
Painting is optional, but it repays the effort. Pre-colored parts can be repainted without trouble: degrease them, spray them with a primer and apply the paint with a brush or an airbrush. Even without an overall respray it helps to wipe thin paint or a liner into the engraved lines and add a light wash in the recesses, which brings out the division of the armor. A final matte varnish unifies the sheen, while a gloss varnish prepares a base if you are going to apply decals.
