The Patrol Torpedo Boat PT-109 is a kit of the American patrol torpedo boat from plastic bricks, which is assembled without glue and without painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A model of the American patrol torpedo boat PT-109 from the Polish brand COBI. The kit is not an injection-molded plastic model: it is put together from plastic bricks and shaped pieces joined with a snap, without glue, putty and paints. The plastic is colored right from production. Given the broken-up hull and the superstructures, it is a longer build, led by illustrated instructions divided into steps.
PT-109 was a patrol torpedo boat of the United States Navy of the period of the Second World War, built by the Elco shipyard. Boats of this type had a wooden hull, counted on high speed and carried torpedoes completed by light gun armament. They were deployed for patrolling and for night actions in the coastal waters of the Pacific. PT-109 was lost in 1943 after a collision with a Japanese destroyer.
Build the hull according to the instructions from the bottom up and keep checking whether both sides of the boat are symmetrical — on a long hull a deviation easily carries into the whole length. Leave the deck equipment and the gun armament until the end, so that they do not get in your way when handling it. The finished model is longer and heavier, so lift it under the hull with both hands and carry it level. For display count on corresponding room on a shelf; the model is not clear-coated.
The kit is supplied unassembled. The parts are from colored plastic, and glue and paints are not needed and are not included in the package.
