Pigment Fluor Pink: a fluorescent pigment from AMMO of Mig Jimenez

Pigment Fluor Pink is a powdered pigment from the fluorescent range of the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It is not a paint in a bottle and not a muted weathering shade for ordinary patina, but a very fine powder in a luminous pink shade which is used wherever an area is meant to be conspicuous. Fluorescent shades look saturated in daylight already, and under ultraviolet light their luminosity grows further still. The pink from the fluorescent group is conspicuous even over a small area, so it tends to be valued as an accent rather than as the color of a whole surface.

Where it is useful

• On custom paint schemes and conspicuous finishes on car and motorcycle models.
• On fantasy figures and wargaming bases, where a strong area is to be completed with a sharp accent.

• It is applied dry with a soft brush and built up in thin layers until the shade is right.
• It comes out best over a matte, light base; on a dark surface its strength is noticeably lower.

The shade will be appreciated by builders of custom vehicles, figure painters and modelers who like working with strong color and are looking for a tone the ordinary palette does not offer. The pigment is fine enough to be dosed over really small areas, so it will serve even on tiny elements where a brush with paint would be too coarse. The shade is saturated and unambiguous, so even a small area on a model will reliably catch the eye.

Safety and handling: this is a very fine powder. Work in a well-ventilated room, do not inhale the powder and open the container carefully so that the pigment does not disperse into the surroundings. Store it closed, dry and out of the reach of children. Before working on a finished model, try the shade and the strength of the application on a test piece.
