Pigment Fluor Yellow - a fluorescent pigment from AMMO of Mig Jimenez

Pigment Fluor Yellow is a loose pigment from the fluorescent range of the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It is neither a paint in a bottle nor a muted weathering shade for ordinary patina, but a very fine powder in a bright yellow shade used wherever an area is meant to be conspicuous. Fluorescent shades look saturated even in daylight, and under ultraviolet light their glow grows further. Yellow is the most legible of all signal colors at a distance, which is why most real warning markings carry it.

Where it is useful

• On warning stripes, markings of hazardous points and rescue equipment on modern vehicles.
• On the signal areas of airfield and handling equipment, where a piece is meant to be seen from far off.
• On science fiction and fantasy models where some element is meant to look like a source of light.
• It is applied dry with a soft brush and built up in thin layers until the shade is right.

The pigment is fine enough to be dosed onto really small areas, so it will serve on small features where a brush with paint would be too coarse. Safety and handling: this is a very fine powder. Work in a well ventilated room, do not inhale the powder and open the container carefully so the pigment does not scatter around. Store it closed, in a dry place and out of the reach of children. Before working on a finished model, try the shade and the strength of the application on a test piece.
