Pigment Magenta from AMMO of Mig Jimenez

Pigment Magenta is a finely ground powder for color and weathering effects in modeling. It belongs to the colored part of the pigment range of the AMMO of Mig Jimenez brand, where strongly chromatic shades stand alongside the classic dust and earth tones. The shade carries the manufacturer's original designation, so the product can be looked up and reordered reliably in exactly the same tone.

Unlike washes, filters and effects, which are liquid, a pigment is a powder. It is applied dry with a soft brush, can be rubbed into the texture of a surface and its quantity is regulated gradually, layer by layer. Purple does not occur in the ordinary military palette, so this shade is aimed at creative, stylized and boldly colored subjects rather than at historical equipment.

Use

• toning areas where a cool violet cast is to come out
• bringing out edges and surface textures with a dry brush
• dioramas and figures, where a saturated chromatic shade is useful
• complementing earth pigments with a color contrast

Who the pigment is for

It will be appreciated by modelers who already have a basic set of dust and rust shades and want to widen the palette with pure colors. It will also serve well on mock-ups and scenes where the aim is not a faithful period patina but a strong color result. Purple comes out best over a light and smooth base.
