Metallic Red is a loose modeling pigment in a metallic red from the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez. Metallic-looking shades behave differently in a pigment range than earthy dusts do: their particles reflect light, so after application the area does not look dusty but gains a glossy depth of color.
A pigment is a powder, not a liquid product: it is not worked like a wash that runs into recesses, nor like a filter that shifts the tone of a whole area. The metallic impression comes from the sheen of fine particles, so the result changes with the angle of the light and with the smoothness of the base: on a smooth surface the application looks more coherent than on a roughened one. It does not replace a covering paint, however; the volume of the package, the composition and the recommendations for treating the application are given on the pigment container.
