Six lacquer paints for the Polish ground-attack aircraft with a variable-sweep wing after overhaul. It covers the three-color pattern of the upper surfaces, the blue-green underside and the metal surface of the rear part of the fuselage.
Responsibility details are not available.
Poland operated ground-attack aircraft with a variable-sweep wing longer than most of its former allies and had them go through overhaul at a domestic works several times. During it the machines received a new finish, which no longer matched the original Eastern pattern but the composition used in NATO. A guise arose in this way that you will see nowhere else, and it is exactly at it that this selection aims.
The metal tone is applied first, because it needs the smoothest base of all six and takes sanding back badly. Then comes the underside and last the three-color pattern from above. The black in this case is not applied as a base layer but as a full third field of the pattern.
The lacquer type of the paints is an advantage for this particular machine, because the retracting part of the wing is often built as movable on models and the layer on it has to be really thin so that it does not chip off when moved. It is recommended to let the finish on the joint cure longer than on the rest of the airframe.
