Brown pollen for lilies and sunflowers

Brown is the color of ripeness. A sunflower has a brown-black disk of achenes in the middle, a lily carries rusty anthers on long filaments and forsythia darkens from the center outward after flowering. In all those places a shade suits that is not black but warm, because black would look like a hole in miniature and a scene would lose a piece of its conviction.

The difference from dark shades shows mainly with large flowers. While small blossoms stand up to a simple dark dot, with a sunflower the center makes up a considerable part of the area and its color decides the overall impression. The brown powder moreover allows the shade to be graded there, when a darker tone is added in the middle and a lighter base is left showing through toward the edge.

What you will manage with it

Besides flowers it will serve everywhere dry organic matter is to be seen. A little heap of manure behind a cowshed, crushed leaves in a gutter, mulch in a bed by a villa or dust on the tarpaulin of a truck. The fine grain size makes it possible to rub the material into the texture of a surface, so it does not stay lying on top as a foreign body.

The volume of the package is 29.4 cm3, 1.8 cubic inches converted. The consumption is negligible given the size of the doses, so one package usually survives many scenes built. Closed and in the dry the material lasts without limit, because it is not subject to aging or a loss of color.

When choosing a shade it helps to look at real plants. Brown has an enormous range in nature from rusty to tobacco, and a flower looks better when two close tones are mixed lightly. A modeler thereby imitates what happens in a bed by itself, namely that no two plants ripen at once.
