It is neither a paint nor an accessory to a kit, but a painting tool: a single stroke leaves several parallel marks side by side, so it draws texture rather than an area. Size 6 is one step wider and covers more area in a single stroke without the marks losing their spacing, so it is the all-round width for hardware and diorama bases. The manufacturer supplies the comb range from size 0 to size 10.
Do not leave the brush standing propped on its hair in a jar, as the tip will bend and stop holding its shape. Wash the paint out right after the work, with soapy water for acrylics and with the matching thinner for enamels, and do not let it dry in the metal ferrule. After washing, bring the hair back into a tip and store the brush hair up.
For diorama builders and modelers of military hardware who need texture on an area larger than a figure but do not want to give up the spacing of the individual marks. Size 6 tends to be the most frequently used width among combs.
Paints, thinners and brush cleaner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Ventilate when working with solvent thinners and cleaners, as they are flammable.
