A plastic structural profile with a section shaped like the letter I (an I-beam) from Plastruct in polystyrene (styrene). The profile is 14.3 mm high, the flange is 7.1 mm wide, the web is 1.5 mm thick and the length is 375 mm. It imitates a steel beam faithfully and suits models of bridges, halls, cranes and industrial buildings.
The profile cuts easily with a sharp modeling knife or a saw and is glued with cement for polystyrene, which melts the surface and joins it, or with cyanoacrylate glue. The cut edges can be sanded and the surface takes modeling paints without trouble once a primer has been applied.
This is a modeling semi-finished material (a raw plastic profile), not a kit. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
